Why in the world would the Canes trade one if their D making close to league minimum, for a 5th and a forward they don’t need making over $3M?

If CAR takes on Smith, they’re not sending a roster player back and you’re paying a heck of a lot more than a 5th

Agreed with this, and I also think the EDM deal makes no sense for either side. Am I wrong in understanding Grz is considered a good defenseman for Boston? If so, why are you trading him. If you're EDM, why are you trading FOR him when Bouchard is cheaper and younger AND giving up another 1st?

Where do you want the Oilers to come up with another 3 million in cap space?

i didn't create an oilers agm , so oilers cap space wasn't my concern , i was just playing off rumors that edmonton was interested in gryz and oilers fans proposing moving bouchard so why not .

Anything to do with the oilers is a money in, money out. Holland was crystal clear with that.
Oilers feel that Bouchard and Broberg are our future 1,2 Dcore, I dont think they are willing to trade him, especially for a 2nd pair Dman.
Just my opinion though. I think if they were trading him, they would have got Karlsson or Chychrun already. Because that would be what they would want.

could be again i don't know all i was going off was someone sending him away for a pretty poor return , this one is much better , the oilers and their cap situation are not/ were not my concern when making this , for all we know maybe an oilers fan somewhere was making an agm at the same time trading mcdavid for draft picks

They’re only interested in taking on assets from BOS to take on Smith as a cap dump. It’s not hard to understand
