How many games does he need to play in the playoffs to burn his ELC? Is it the same as regular season?

I think he would just be sitting out unless someone gets hurt or does bad, if Utica are in the playoffs, he'll start there.

Isn't he coming from the NCAA? Pretty sure he burns a year no matter how long he plays. Bordeleau played 8 games for SJ last year, that burnt a whole year.

Yes I think you’re correct. Kent Johnson burned his first year last year too and he played like 8 games.

He burns a year no matter what. Not because he's in the NCAA, but because of his age. In order to slide, he needed to sign before the end of 2022

I think that’s a terrible idea. 1. Burning a full year of ELC of his isn’t good. Only way I would recommend is if you know they can already go deep. It’s their first year up against NYR who went conference finals, but 2nd round would be CAR who is well seasoned, then any of TB/TOR/BOS before a cup final. The only other reason I’d consider it is if let’s say Hamilton got hurt and a PP guy was needed. Throw some picks/prospects at Meier and extend him. The future is the window and this year is a learning experience regardless of how many games they play
