I would think getting Tarasenko would get the Rangers out of the potential Patty Kane sweepstakes - sure, this gives them a ton of firepower (but not much two-way game) on their top 2 lines, but it forced Barclay Goodrow up to the 3rd line, makes Jake Leschyshyn (or whoever else you wanna call up from Hartford) your every day 4C, and means that Niko Mikkola is probably your best LHD after Key Miller. Incredibly easy pass for the Rangers - the value is just bad here.

Tarasenko trade should have put an end to these ridicules Kane to the NYR trades, but guess not. Rangers would say NO even without the Tarasenko trade.

This is an insane overpay.
