What's Buffalo fans' opinion of including Peterka in a Timo package? Would a 2023 protected 1st + Ostlund + Peterka be fair?

No. It's too much. Ostlund and the first plus something else and maybe a 2nd too. I imagine the Sabres value peterka and Quinn about the same, and I don't think they would be pieces they wanna move. Of course nobody is above being traded, but if the Sabres would agree to peterka at all, the ostlund piece would come out.

And I'd keep olofsson over boeser, I'd probably do a vegas second for schenn, even though it's likely overpaying (markets the market).

I think Peterka is a future top line winger who can score 70-90 points. And Rosen has an elite shot and could be a middle 6 winger. I think it would have to be Peterka and a 1st rounder or Ostlund, Rosen and a 1st. Portillo may be worth something to them but I don’t think that’s worth much.

I think Peterka is untouchable. But who knows what will happen. Pretty fair chance this is like last year with Hertl and Timo just re-signs in SJ

Very simple observation.
Quinn has more NHL goals at 21 (9) than Meier's had pts (6) after playing 34 games at the same age.
His QO is $10,000,000. It is unlikely the Sabres will offer that, so he could be a free agent and the Sabres end up with nothing after only 20 games.

Cozens signed a nice contract this week and he plays center with only 8 fewer pts than Meier has this year. How much will Meier want next year?

I pass on Meier

I wish he would so we can stop seeing these ridiculous trades posted here. Either that or somebody pull the trigger on the deal already. Personally, I hope Buffalo does not pay anything near this price, and if they won’t, I’d be fine with that and let him go elsewhere.

The Jackets don't need or want more PMD (we have a few too many already), so thanks but no thanks.

San Jose would love peterka, why they chose Weisblatt two picks prior is still baffling to me

Players develop differently. You can't say that because Quinn at 21 had more goals than Meier at 21 that he is better. That's silly. Timo started his career in bottom six minutes with offensively inept linemates in Marcus Sorensen and Melker Karlsson, two guys that can't even play in the NHL anymore. Timo could easily hit 50 goals this year and 90 points on a bottom feeder team. That's truly impressive.

Would I trade Quinn for Timo? Nope! Is Quinn better than Timo? Nope! Sabres have a quality future without adding a bonafide star. Timo likely stays, anyway.

No GM trades for a Timo Meier or Bo Horvat and gives up a haul without knowing what it will take to sign him or already have an extension in place.
See the NYI and Horvat...how many days did it take the Islanders to have Horvat's name on the dotted line? No GM makes that kind of a trade knowing if the player doesn't sign he gets fired.

Timo started his career in bottom six minutes Quinn is playing one more min/gm that Meier, so ice time is not a factor with offensively inept linemates in Marcus Sorensen and Melker Karlsson, Timo spent far more TOI with Ward, Hertl, Thornton, Pevalski and Tierny than two guys that can't even play in the NHL anymore. Timo could easily hit 50 goals this year and 90 points on a bottom feeder team. That's truly impressive.

Would I trade Quinn for Timo? Nope! Is Quinn better than Timo? Nope! Sabres have a quality future without adding a bonafide star. This is my point, Quinn could be better than Timo in five years, the trade is not needed and if offering him more than Tage was the only way to keep him, it would upset the team Chemistry. Timo likely stays, anyway.

Comparing NHL production was only one of my points.

It should have been understood that it is unlikely Timo would sign for $7,000,000 therefore the Sabtes would lose him and all of the assets that were trade to acquire him for 20 games.

Exactly!
It is very unlikely the Sabres will offer him $8,500,000, much more than either Tage or Dylan.
