I’ve come to the grips that a big move will come in the offseason for a goalie like Demko, unless they go UFA route like varlamov

Ya I think it makes sense for LA especially if they're able to make the trade with their 2nd tier prospects/young players (which are all still quite valuable).

Like I don't think Byfield, Clarke, probably not even Turcotte would be on the table for a goalie. But some combination of guys like Grans, Spence, Kupari, Anderson-Dolan, etc. Makes sense to me.

I'd want Peterson instead of Quick since Quick eliminated the Canucks in 2012.

the fact that you call demko a top 10 goalie then proceed to trade him away for a late first and hopefully a top 4 dman is wild. Demko isn't the problem with the canucks and trading him away is just going to create a bigger problem

I know I posted this as a deadline trade but in reality it's probably a draft day trade. The idea behind it would be demko only has 3 more years left and the Canucks will probably be bad for at least another season so that only leaves 2 seasons left with demkos current contract.

IF it becomes clear that Jarry is going to become a UFA (which would be pretty evident by the time of the draft) you move demko for assets and then replace him with Jarry in free agency on a longer term deal in the 5-6mil range.

Jarry is a local Vancouver product and has ties to Canucks management from their time in Pittsburgh together.
