Although, I have thought about this..and I get it, it’s crazy..but what about trading Panarin? Hear me out. Suppose the playoffs are a dud, and Panarin is a dud specifically, they mutually decide to part ways waiving his clauses. Then we trade for Meier resign him and keep virtually everyone they need to keep/sign. 9 mill goes to Meier for 8 years.

Finding a taker for Panarin would be difficult obviously, but maybe a Seattle something like that. They’ll be due for a big addition soon. Idk just something I thought of because these Meier rumors don’t make much sense unless they can retain Meier long term. And they just can’t do that without trading Panarin, and keep the youth at the same time
