Description
With stone likely out for the season, maybe he returns for playoffs. So Vegas takes advantage of the LTIR...thoughts on tarasenko trade value? Maybe this is abit rich , but there will definitely be multiple suitors for him at the deadline so the offer might need to be Abit rich to get it done.

The jackets trade fills multiple "holes" for the team , really just building NHL depth for a real run at the playoffs. Defensively responsible forwards with secondary offense and special teams help if needed. Perhaps gavrikov could make more sense then Boqvist? But a young top 4 RD with term might be useful.

I'd do that CBJ trade. Dunno if Patrick has much of a future in the NHL anymore, but having another young center option that doesn't need to be rushed to the NHL and another 1st would be nice. I also think Kuraly is going to be expendable going forward with Voronkov coming over and Texier coming back next year and Boqvist is the most logical odd man out of the current RD group if they add Jiricek into the mix next year.

Very true, I just thought the less strings attached to tarasenko might be appealing to a cap strapped team like Vegas. Probably costs Abit more for Meier aswell, he's going to be the biggest target on the market for other teams too.

If you swap out Patrick for Lukas Cormier (or possibly Carl Lindbom), this might be enough to push Jarmo into accepting. But it's unlikely they want to trade Kuraly, and Gavrikov is more likely to move at the deadline than Boqvist. Still, I can't say I'm not enticed as a CBJ fan.

Nyquist is out for the season and Theo plays the best on the right side. No thanks on that

So you vote gavrikov then? Haha
I know Nyquist is possibly out for the season but should be back come playoffs from what I read, if not , subtract him and the 3rd

"TSN’s Darren Dreger reported Wednesday that Nyquist will return in time for the playoffs, which would open up a potential loophole for a contending team to place his $5.5 million AAV on LTIR and activate him for the postseason when the cap would no longer be in play."

Tempting, although Kuraly is someone who we'd prefer to keep (being a hometown kid and still effective) and Patrick really isn't of interest. Something around Boqvist and Dean would be very very interesting, though.

Problem with your LTIR theory is CBJ would have to activate him from LTIR to trade him and the receiving team would have to have the cap space to acquire him then could LTIR him. It's not the same but a close example is TB. They couldn't just send Balcers to Syracuse they had to activate him from LTIR first. They didn't have the space so they had to send Perbix down to Syracuse to open enough cap space up then waived/ sent down Balcers and recalled Perbix.

So your saying for example, when Shea Weber was traded to Vegas, someone could have claimed him from Vegas? Then that player could just keep being claimed by another team until eventually someone didn't? Then he could pass through and then go on LTIR for that team?
Feel like I'm missing something here lol and this also isn't my theory, it's Darren dreger who said it..
