Description
Reports have came out saying Larkin would be Boston no1 target. This would likely be a TDL move, Boston would have more money to acquire Larkin. They could try and resign him long term this summer in the scenario where Bergeron nor Krejci retire. Let me know what you think about the value. Should Boston add? If yes what should they had? Could Boston afford to resign Larkin?

How quickly everyone forgets how the contract negotiations went with Steve Y and Stamkos. Stamkos went to UFa and had meetings with other teams. SetveY gives you an offer and then doesn't budge.

Rumour is his final offer to Larkin is 8x8. Can't blame him for at least trying to look at other options. If not Boston someone would be willing to give him more than 8x8.

Thats true, but the comment has Larkin will never get to UFA, and if Stamkos did then Larkin def could as well, with the way Steve Y operates.

Okay, let me rephrase: "You (not you) are seriously misinformed if you think Larkin is not re-signing in Detroit".

It is kinda sad that you're willingly and openly advertising yourself as uninformed, yes.

I'd rather admit that I'm just a hockey fan with takes than think their opinion actually matters and that they understand what is said behind closed doors in NHL offices, lol. Have fun on the forklift tomorrow morning buddy

I would tend to agree with that, especially since he is from Michigan. But if the rumors are true and Steve Y is playing hardball with an 8x8 offer, you really can't blame him for looking at other options. This is likely his last shot at a big pay day for his career. He would be 34 after an 8 year deal.

as long as NYR gets Kane, overpay for him and still don't win the cup, won't be able to resign him and have a decimated roster next year, it is deal wink

Works for me.

Where are you hearing that his final offer to Larkin is 8x8? That's pure BS the latest offer is now 8x8.2m so it's come up $200,000 plus Larkin came down to 8x8.9m so only $700,000 apart they will meet in the middle at 8x8.5m or 8x8.6m

Any number offer that starts with an 8 still if you are him you have to at least look around and consider other offers. Not saying he is leaving, just that is the business side. Like I said this will very likely be the last and biggest payday of his career.

I don't see Yzerman doing this unless he gets a roster player back (much like the Mantha / Vrana trade).
If this were Coyle, Lysell, and a 1st it would be more comparable to the Hovart trade, and Lalonde has been asking for a right hand center since the start of the season.

Larkins comps are Hertl and Hintz, And Yzerman has already offered Larkin right between them that's his value. Zero chance of any team offering Larkin $9,000,000+ on the open market. Plus without that 8th year he's losing a vast amount of money.

I believe none of the rumors. Everything that us Wings fans have heard and seen from Yzerman and Larkin leads to me to believe it will not be an issue.

This is like Judge going back to the Yankees, but even more set in stone already.

Coyle+Lysell+2023 1st round pick and a 2023 3rd round pick would be minimal of what Yzerman would want for Larkin from Boston. And that probably still doesn't get it done.

Not going anywhere until July 1st*

I’ll give you that it’s not impossible, but anybody who follows the situation closely knows that a deal is all but certain. As of now, they’re less than a mil off from each other. My guess 8x8.75
