Description
Reports have came out saying Larkin would be Boston no1 target. This would likely be a TDL move, Boston would have more money to acquire Larkin. They could try and resign him long term this summer in the scenario where Bergeron nor Krejci retire. Let me know what you think about the value. Should Boston add? If yes what should they had? Could Boston afford to resign Larkin?

Don't see how they could sign both Larkin and Pasta in the summer without also giving up a big package to move off of Coyle and Forbort. Even if it was just as a rental though would 1000% be worth it for Boston though

I mean, if they trade Coyle (which is likely not gonna happen, let's be realistic)

Are you ill? This is an overpayment from Boston. They should at least be dumping a contract if they're giving up a top prospect and a first +.

Keep holding out for more and you'll end up losing him to FA for nothing, lmao.

I don't think the Bruins can afford Larkin next season.
But Bruins shouldn't be making a trade to get him either. If he wants to come as UFA, OK (if the cap is there)

Comparing this to Horvat trade there is more retention, and less coming back, and Larkin has been a 1C, Horvat has been a 2C most of his career. Beauvillier (28 OA), Raty (52 OA), 1st rounder will be probably be around 20 OA. Compared to Lysell (21OA), 1st rounder is currently projected to be 32nd, and late 3rd. The 3rd rounder has to be upgraded to 2nd or 1st.

I will, and I’m ok with that, Larkin isn’t going anywhere without a severe overpayment

It’s funny & scary to see Larkin on the 3rd line.

I personally like the trade, I’d try and squeeze another player out of the deal but I’d be perfectly fine with it for the Wings.

I’d bet Larkin remains with the Wings though and is extended over 8 years at $9.15m.

This is an underpayment, and if they are dumping a contract the 3rd will be upgraded to a 1st. The only contracts worth dumping on BOS would be Rielly or Forbort probably, but most the players they have are contributing to their success and aren't worth getting rid of for the playoffs. Overall this trade makes sense for winning the playoffs but isnt ideal for their future. Realistically once Marchand, Bergy and Krejci retire they could attempt to re-tool with Pasta, McAvoy, Swayman, Zacha, Lindholm, Lysell, Debrusk on the team but its not looking super bright. So the benefits of spending on a rental out way their future IMO.

How? Pasta will cost anywhere from $11,000,000 to $12,000,000 per from what's being reported. Larkin will be in the $9,000,000+ per range plus Boston has the $4,500,000 performance Bonus overage that has to be paid to Bergeron and Krejci. Sweeney will have to be extremely creative to fit in Larkin long term.

Nope Lysell a late 1st and 3rd round pick are nowhere close to the neighborhood that it would take to get Larkin out of Detroit to a divisional foe in Boston. You're still missing several pieces.

Boston is of a few possible targets but lets be honest just about every team will be putting in a bid if he actually makes it to the trading block. I don't see him leaving Detroit but if he was to leave my money is on Columbus.

For Larkin to be traded in division the price would steeply increase.

Boston doesn't have the pieces for Larkin, While Lysell is a nice piece he's not a need for us. If the Bruins win the cup the 1st is 32nd overall and the 3rd is 96th overall. Not nearly enough Yzerman wants pieces that can help us now not 3-4 years down the road. Without a 3rd team being involved Boston doesn't have what it would take to get Larkin out of Detroit.

So hypothetically Larkin goes to Boston. Then is the offseason Detroit signs Pasta and Horvat.

as long as NYR gets Kane, overpay for him and still don't win the cup, won't be able to resign him and have a decimated roster next year, it is deal wink

Larkin would be BOS no.1 target in free agency, not the trade deadline. But I'm not even sure BOS could afford both Larkin and Pasta anyway.

The Reports are from the fact that Larkin is meeting with his agent in Flordia over weekend. He is looking at Options, after getting his final offer from Steve Y.

The Bruins are trying to find a replacement for Bergerson, so the thought process is that he would retire after this season, and likely there is a player goign back the other way to make the money work, it wouldn;t be too hard to make it happen.

That being said, They 100% needs to be more going back for him I would think a Zacha or Coyle is included in the deal.
