I have a feeling the rest of the season is going to be a bumpy ride

Description
The thing about winning streaks is that you need them to keep going.

To keep up the momentum.

Especially if you are an underdog to make the playoffs.

An 11 day break is a long time without NHL hockey.

It could very well ruin our winning streak IMO.

We also just fired our AHL Head Coach for allegedly giving pre-scouting material to another NHL team.

And his brother is still working in our front office as Ottawa's Assistant GM.

Happy Friday :D

I think the only guy on ottawa NY would be interested in is DeBrincat, and the only way to make a deal work would be if the Isles have room to maneuver after a potential Horvat extension. Also the Sens would have to take back bailey which would be a non starter.

I'm sure Travis would love the trade to Winnipeg, but unless they move out a couple guys I don't think he's a fit.

Another problem with trading for DeBrincat is that you don't have Raty or one of your 1sts for 2023/2024 to spend anymore.

Actually I wouldn't mind the isles going after Motte or Hamonic for a 4th in 2024

Lou Lamoriello isn't the most rational GM. You never know.

With DeMelo scratched/injured, the Jets are only playing 1 right handed defenceman.

We should sell if we are not making the playoffs.

If they don’t go at least 4-2 in their next 6 games, I agree. Too early to tell. Only 6pts back with 32 games left

He'll be back after the all star game.

Let's say he does come back after the all star game.

Winnipeg's defence would be:

Morrissey---Pionk
Dillon---DeMelo
Schmidt---??????

Who's your 6th defenceman, going into the playoffs?

Morrissey-Demelo- they've been paired for most of the season, and for the most part since Demelo showed up. They work great together
Dillon- Pionk
Samberg-Schmidt (I'd put Heinola here, but with his contract status, and the bad contract Schmidt has, it would be hard to trade him at the deadline, or even this offseason)
Stanley (even though I want him traded)

Schmidt is playing on his weak side while Samberg/Stanley/Heinola can barely scratch the surface during the regular season.

Not exactly ideal for the Jets.

Schmidt has been playing on his off side most of his career, and when he's been up Heinola has also played his right side. It's not ideal, but it's what they've been doing. If someone takes on Schmidt's contract, and any other team takes on Stanley, then Hamonic would fit.
