Nj is very anti rental from what Fitz has publicly said, and every major piece going to NJ would be a rental. Don’t see this being very realistic

Doesn't make sense for the Devils.
This season's best performing player present in the deal is Tomas Tatar, he is been ridiculously good this year and his impacts are far clear of what Tarasenko, O'Reilly and Barbashev has put up.
Besides, Barbashev and more so Mikkola are unlikely to be any upgrade for this Devils team, they are more likely downgrades.
Zetterlund and Bastian should be in the lineup over Barbashev (and McLeod)
Any of Smith, Okhotiuk, Bahl or Walsh should be in the lineup over Mikkola.
Fitzgerald is notoriously anti rental anyways so there's no real risk a deal like this would ever go through.

I have to think St Louis does better selling tarasenko O'Reilly and barbashev separately.

Idk they may keep O’Reilly if the extension is reasonable. He hasn’t had sustained success elsewhere so he may take a team friendly deal. St. Louis isn’t that far away from getting back to the post season tbh.

I'm pretty certain they are going to trade him. Blues then might try to resign him in offseason.

Sustained success? He's been pretty reasonably an elite 2nd line matchup center since 2011-2012. I guess if you're more so counting team success yeah that's probably true. To be fair though, it's hard to accredit that to his play on Buffalo and those Colorado teams.
