I like that Meier trade a lot and think that would probably get it done for both sides. However, I don’t think we need the 2.25m cap spent on Kulikov or really to bolster our defense much at all (especially with Luke coming over)

Let's be completely honest- players never end up getting traded for as much as we thought. The only outlier was the Tkachuk trade which was a crazy overpay. Look at Fiala- B level prospect and a 1st; DeBrincat for a 1st,2nd, 3rd. Devils fans were offering Holtz, 2OA, and a roster player for DeBrincat when we really could've had him for 2OA straight up. The Meier deal won't be some gross overpay; it will be fair value which this trade most certainly is. You're never getting Nemec or Mercer. I'm fine with moving Holtz tho if that's what it takes

Practically a 2nd rounder, and the contract limit is a non-factor - can easily send extra players in a deal/cut if need be.

Which makes sense as we have a lot of good not great prospects and dont really need more in that category. A lot of ACGM's seem to rather give up quantity over quality but nothing indicates that the sharks want that

Holtz, Sharangovich, 1st is most likely package IMO

Tkachuk wasn't an over pay that guy is an animal and Calgary are struggling, Florida are too but you can argue that has more to do with not being able to replicate their third line. Cat got 7OA a very high second + a third which is comparable to Holtz + 2OA + roster player but the picks line up better with Chicago's timeline and are certainly more valuable than just 2nd overall. I dont know if this trade is fair value or not

They don't represent us, this is a solid deal. Maybe add a 4th or 5th since Bones in included, but I would not be upset with this return.
