Damn, you Canucks fans really hate that JT Miller deal................

MIN can't afford him next year. They just don't have the cap space for an $8mil player for at least 2-3 more years.

It's a **** trade.

It does exactly bupkiss for Minnesota. And worse puts them even farther into cap hell next year. And you want them to pay you for the non-effort of it all.

Brilliant.

And you've already had one regular poster here, who isn't even a Wild fan, tell you that Minnesota isn't doing this. @Dutchies didn't slam it per say, but he was being polite.

I will.

The ONLY piece remotely interesting here for Minnesota in this trade as presented is Schenn. And that's only because they might move Dumba at the TDL.

Frankly, the Wild are NOT giving up a top prospect who was taken in the 1st round in last year's draft, a center prospect who was a 3rd round pick in 2021 that has had an incredible season down in the WHL this year and that has played so well he forced his way onto the gold medal winning Canadian WJC team, and their 1st this year in the deepest draft since 2015.

That isn't remotely feasible for the team you're trying to sucker into taking your cap dump that is going to be $3M overpaid starting next year, a admittedly useful rental 2nd pairing defenseman who could replace the one we might send out at the TDL and is cheaper, and a prospect who would likely walk to UFA after his college season is over.

Then you factor in that Minnesota has $9.5M in available cap space with which to sign SEVEN TO EIGHT PLAYERS to get to a full roster next year. Acquiring Miller means that number drops down to just $1.5M left to sign SIX TO SEVEN PLAYERS.

It's not realistic or helps the Wild in anyway aside from wasting good assets. Don't confuse or think that a lack of posters means that this trade is either good or that it's the best one here.

Because it most definitely IS NOT.
Dutchies a aimé ceci.

The cap space this year doesn't matter. It's the next few seasons while the Wild are still in Cap hell. They'd have to move out 2-3 key pieces just to make room for Miller.

where to begin,i dont read douchy aka dutchie, hes not worth my time, hes on here to bash, and pretend hes a future gm.saying it does nothing for the wild isnt accurate, they have no first line center,ek is a 2nd line c,and to prove my point sam steel has been centering there first line.so yes jt miller would solve this.the wild are in a solid playoff spot, but need a first line center,to be a legit contender .however i am aware of wild cap issues next yr,because of the buyouts, but right now they have cap space, and with the ability to move out dumba 6mil,because of schenn it makes sense, for this yr.you have all summer to fix cap issues.now is the time to go for it,as next yr with there buyouts, its time to rebuild.futhermore JT isnt overpaid he just came off a 99 pt season and is still a pt a game,8mil is what those guys get.is horvat now a terrible contract, that cant be moved because he got 8,5.anyways thanks for your wisdom, its so entertaining reading guys on here, everybody is a pro scout.
