this is the best trade i have seen on here, thats why nobody is slamming it.dumba and his 6 mil go making some cap space.
It's a **** trade.
It does exactly bupkiss for Minnesota. And worse puts them even farther into cap hell next year. And you want them to pay you for the non-effort of it all.
Brilliant.
And you've already had one regular poster here, who isn't even a Wild fan, tell you that Minnesota isn't doing this.
@Dutchies didn't slam it per say, but he was being polite.
I will.
The ONLY piece remotely interesting here for Minnesota in this trade as presented is Schenn. And that's only because they might move Dumba at the TDL.
Frankly, the Wild are NOT giving up a top prospect who was taken in the 1st round in last year's draft, a center prospect who was a 3rd round pick in 2021 that has had an incredible season down in the WHL this year and that has played so well he forced his way onto the gold medal winning Canadian WJC team, and their 1st this year in the deepest draft since 2015.
That isn't remotely feasible for the team you're trying to sucker into taking your cap dump that is going to be $3M overpaid starting next year, a admittedly useful rental 2nd pairing defenseman who could replace the one we might send out at the TDL and is cheaper, and a prospect who would likely walk to UFA after his college season is over.
Then you factor in that Minnesota has $9.5M in available cap space with which to sign SEVEN TO EIGHT PLAYERS to get to a full roster next year. Acquiring Miller means that number drops down to just $1.5M left to sign SIX TO SEVEN PLAYERS.
It's not realistic or helps the Wild in anyway aside from wasting good assets. Don't confuse or think that a lack of posters means that this trade is either good or that it's the best one here.
Because it most definitely IS NOT.
