Description
I know guentzel is very unrealistic, pitsburgh just doesn’t seem to be heading into a good direction and maybe for the right over payment they would consider a trade. Pitsburgh is running out of time and the isles just made a big move that can put pitsburgh out of playoffs.

Just trying to get an idea of what fan bases value these players

I'm not sure there's anything I want from the Bruins, if I had any faith in our scouting team to find a steal in the late 1st, maybe I'd think different

Think you can shorten that list considerably.

Schenn, Domi, possibly Comtois are the only ones on that list that i can see them pursuing. Mac and Braun from Phiily if all else fails.

They can’t take on players with term considering they will have to shed cap next year as it is.

Garland might be an interesting target from a cost perspective if Van is considering buying him out. There would be some possibilities. Smith and Reilly for CG. Or CG 50% retained for Smith and mid round pick. Problem is he’s a bad fit. Brings nothing that they actually need and blocks Lysell.

      IMO:

      Braun, Justin - a 4th in 2023 or 2024, close to 100th overall

Frost, Morgan - hes on pace for 40-45 pts on a team missing alot of key forwards and team can't score, he looks great one minute/average the next, but at his age/contract, hes worth a bit more than a late in the round 2nd, maybe even a late in the round 1st, or even 2 2nds, based on the buyers "window". Its also about Phillys need/want to sell him, they'd have to be wow'ed.

Laughton, Scott - verstaile, gritty, coming off second career year, leadership type and signed long term for good value. Hes probably worth 2 2nds and a bit more, solid upper midlevel prospect maybe? But, see note about frost, and philly if they market him will get alot of offers.

MacEwen, Zack - currently on IR with broken jaw, but back at/just after deadline, probably a 2023 4th or a 5th and 7th kind of thing

van Riemsdyk, James ($3,500,000 retained) - playing at high level right now, I would see a 2nd and 3rd (maybe not 2023 for the picks, which is seen as a "deeper draft year")

PHI can easily eat a cap dump back too

neely said it himself last week, they don't want a rental they prefer players with term or someone they can resign

Cool, they can’t. It’s called math.

They have 22m in cap space available next year with 14 players signed.

Pasta, Sway, Freddy, bonus overages take all of it. Still only 17 players signed.

So they have to shed about 6m just to fill out the roster with guys on ELC or cheap vets.

Any cap you bring you in with term means more cap has to go out.

I would think all 3 of the listed players above are resignable.

Schenn around 1.5 mill aav, Domi maybe like a 3x3.5-4, Comtois would need to take a pay decrease unless he killed it in Boston in the short period of time there so probably like a 1-2yr 2-2.5 mill deal.

Domi’s ability to play C and his solid vision as a playmaker interest me as a bridge Center for pasta. Comtois is also interesting, Anaheim as a whole isn’t really producing and I’m sure their is some frustration with the team, maybe some motivation of having better linemates being on a competitive team and being on team that fits his play style could workout

What are you thinking for Guentzel + Zucker both? I know you mentioned players in other thread, but what is their backrounds/potential. I'm not a big proponent of trading Guentzel, but we are also probably not making playoffs so nothing is off the table. Would have to be a slight overpay I think

riley will be gone for sure as well , in my opinion either grzy or ullmark are the most logical choices to move more cap and get back some value

Reilly for sure. I agree Grizz is likely next. Maybe they can get Clifton to stay cheap, maybe not.

Those 2 probably give you enough space to fill a roster. Anything else they want to do means somebody else goes. Maybe multiple somebodies. Which is why they can’t bring in players with term.

They are not moving guys like Hall, Ullmark, Debrusk, Coyle, Carlo to bring in guys like Domi and Greenway.

I think schenn is the only guy on this list the bruins should have any interest in.

Guentzel? Seriously? This team doesn’t need major surgery.

Considering BOS's looking at late draft picks, I'd probably say two 2nds can get it done for Rosy with retention.

Second @Viqsi on Boone. He's important to the organization, versatile, and actually pretty good, considering how otherwise bad this team is. Getting him would require an overpay.
