I would imagine they need to give up a little more for him. I would also imagine their RFA's get a larger next contract.

Hawks got a 2nd for taking Dickinson's 3 mil for 2 seasons. It's gonna take much more than a 3rd to get rid of goodrows 3.6 mil for 4 seasons.

Lafreniere is on pace for 35 points, he likely gets 3m on a two year deal, perhaps 2.5+x1. Considering that he's a former 1st OV pick he probably gets 3m easy. There are young guys around the league with 30-40 who are getting 3-3.2m.

I did bridge deals for Miller and laf until the rangers can get put of troubas contract the next off-season. I don't think Debrincat and get much more when you compare production to others around the league I'd say max 8m

You're short almost 5m on rfa signings, making overpaying Cat impossible, thankfully. We have cap & depth issues, why is everyone trading for expensive names lol

Except when you look at what teams would give fir goodrow with retention which if the hawks are going into a rebuild would be good. Imagine what a team like col or Tampa would give for goodrow with 50%

1. The trade doesn't get you Cat. It doesn't address any of Ottawa's needs (immediate top 4 RHD). Kratsov is, for all intents and purposes, a bust in my eyes and Jones isn't the D Ottawa will look to acquire (LHD with no room for him on the leftside with Chabot, Sanderson and Brannstrom in front of him). Ottawa would ask for Schneider + in return for Cat.

2. Cat will certainly not sign a 49 million dollar contract when he is more than likely to get more on the open market if he walks himself to free agency. He's qualified at 9.

3. To add to point 2. All these contracts seem a little on the cheap side.

DeBrincat's QO is 9M. if all he costed to extend was 7, then the Sens would have extended him already

Kappo is just as much a bust as kratsov, and neither player OTT would want in any way
