Team gets worse and sacrifices the future. Just a full on horrible idea with no possible justification.

Carlo and Lysell aren't getting moved for a rental.

And Horvat isn't coming to Boston to play wing either. And he's a LW not a RW.

Carlo is very overrated. Schenn can take over on the pk and provide more offense.

What offense are you talking about? They're both negative offensive players but Carlo is much better defensively and is not a rental. You could trade Carlo and replace him by a top4 D but it's definitely not Luke Schenn.

Ignoring the trade for one second…

Boe horvat has never played RW a day in his NHL career. Acquiring him to play him there makes no sense.

Schenn if fine in a 3rd pair role. He should not be in your top4 if you are trying to win a Cup. Carlo is a premier shutdown defenseman and does everything the Bruins need him to do. They are not trading him midseason

I think this is they type of deal that will happen if Bo gets moved to Boston. (Potentially without Smith and the 4th but the base of the deal is solid. Horvat Schenn for Carlo Lysell 1st.)

Neither fan base is overly happy with it which is often an indication that it is fairly close.
