Mercer and Nemec are the only two decent pieces and that late 1st, The rest you can keep. Plus you're looking at paying EP about 8 x $10,500,000 to be your 3C or unless you drop Hischier and Hughes down one. Doubt he has any interest in playing LW when his entire career has benn at C.

Teams that actually need a 1 or 2C now like CBJ or soon like LA probably can beat this offer or compete with it. A ton of other teams would show interest too even if they can't beat the proposed trade or ultimately decide that they don't want to acquire him but Vancouver management wouldn't need to rush even if he asks for a trade.

What CBJ deal would match this and leave them with a competent roster? Jiricek and KJ arent getting moved, and the next best option is not even as valuable as Mercer, let alone Nemec. I guess maybe if they get a top 3 pick this year lol. But I doubt they move Fantilli for Petey

They might choose to move one of KJ or Jiricek for Pettersen, it would probably depend on what he's looking for an extension and what the package would be. So could be KJ+some other RD since they have an abundance of those or Sillinger+Jiricek. If CBJ ends up with the 4th or 5th OV pick in the draft, they may choose to use that pick to acquire him.

If they land Bedard or Fantilli, that could make them even nore willing to pay up for Pettersen and letting a guy like KJ go or they might just choose to stick with Bedard (or Fantilli) and KJ if the ask is too rich for them.

I’m not 100% sure that could be feasible with Columbus’ cap. In that hypothetical, they’ll be in dire need to the Jiricek ELC plus will need him as a player to prop up their very weak D core for a Bedard/Fantilli cup run before Johnny’s decline. NJ is one of the few that can afford to lose a major RD prospect

Yeah, I would think that the piece that Vancouver would ask for is KJ anyways assuming he is more of a C than a LW in the NHL, and then maybe Boqvist and one of Peeke/Blakenburg for RD if they want two, a first and whatever else is needed for trade value. Roslovic might need to be included for cap purposes too.

Getting Pettersen would of course be so that they could take advantage of Gaudreau before he declines and establishing a solid C core down the middle with Pettersen, Bedard/Fantilli (if they get one of them) and Jenner. If they don't get either they might be in more need for them. Of course, it's all going to depend on if they think they can fit Pettersen's next contract and if they feel like the ask is too high or not.

The thing I wonder about the Jersey offer though, is if Vancouver would be confident enough that Mercer could be their 1 or 2C of the future, although it might not be necessary if they get one in a Horvat trade. In that case, I think they would really like to have Nemec. I do question though why would Jersey do this lol.

Read up on Topias Vilen. He is a pretty solid prospect. Two-way dman. Playing big role in Liiga this year.
