Let me know what you guys think of this list. This is just my opinion and I would like to take a look at this list after the deadline to see how many I got right and wrong. So this is what I think:
Bo Horvat – Colorado Avalanche
Brock Boeser – Stays in Vancouver ( Off Season Trade )
Luke Schenn – Toronto Maple Leafs
Vladislav Gavrikov – Edmonton Oilers
Gustav Nyquist – Dallas Stars
Jesse Puljujarvi – Columbus Blue Jackets
James Reimer – Los Angeles Kings
Erik Karlsson – Stays in San Jose ( Possibly Off Season Trade )
Timo Meier – New Jersey Devils
Matt Dumba – Stays in Minnesota ( For Playoff Run/Own Rental )
Patrick Kane – New York Rangers
Jonathan Toews – Seattle Kraken
Max Domi – Stays in Chicago ( Possibly Re-signs in Off Season )
Vladimir Tarasenko – Carolina Hurricanes
Ryan O’Reilly – Boston Bruins
John Klingberg – Washington Capitals
Sean Monahan – Minnesota Wild
Joel Edmundson – Stays in Montreal
Jakob Chychrun – Stays in Arizona ( Off Season Trade )
Shayne Gostisbehere – Winnipeg Jets
Fitz has kicked tires on VT before, he's looking to add a top-6 winger and I'm sure he'd like to add that experience like he did with Palat.
I would assume Meier is his top choice, but if he likes the value on getting VT (and he comes with an extension of course), then I think he'd be interested.
According to every fans on CF, no team is trading for a rental every year.
COL emptied their pipeline pretty much last year. They traded a 1st, 2 2nds 2 3rds a 5th, their top 3 defensive prospects, before that they traded 2 more 2nds for Toews, meaning they don’t have a 2nd or 3rd rd pick until 2025, they have really only 2 forward and 2 prospects that are potential NHL regulars, they have what is going to be an even more expensive roster in the next 3 years with Newhook and Byram needing extensions after this year, Toews after next year (likely unable to re-sign), and Rantanen the year after that. Being able to add to the roster with some cheap young talent is going to imperative and considering the team hasn’t even played one game with a full top 6, and not even 10 games where they played without missing at least 2 dmen out of the top 4. Will they look to add yeah but they aren’t going to trade multiple non roster high end assets for somebody they get for what 20 regular season games and one playoff run. This isn’t a team whose window is closing in a year it’s open for the next 5 minimum unless they trade away all their young assets watch guys like Toews and other walk and have no way to replace them at all. COL needs to get healthy their additions at the deadline will be in house guys coming off IL and that starts as soon as the all star break ends when Byram, Nichushkin and Manson are all expected back, that’s a very heavy influx of talent.
I see it being a younger winger because Fitzgerald was asked about it and he said he was looking for a young winger to go along and grow with our core, i.e. Meier. It could be Tarasenko but what would NJ trade for Tank?

They want Meier, but i think SJ will hold onto him until the draft to make sure he gets the best offers from every teams. Tarasenko would be a rental.
