You really don't understand LTIR if you really think Lehner is a cap dump for Vegas.

I mean this is a little harsh.

A. Is his deal fully insured. If so, okay I can see your point. If not, its going to cost to get someone to eat money.
B. Are we 100% sure he isn’t coming back? If not, that is going to cost more.

He's on his last year of his contract so the following season's aren't affected.
Even if came back this season, his actual cap hit wouldn't be 5m as the season is more than half over....so what would it be 2.25m or less? So affordable by Vegas, besides if he did return he isn't waiving his NTC to a lousy team in all probability.
If actual $$$$$ and paying for non insured contract was so important for Vegas, why wouldn't they trade him sooner?

You don't get to 50K comments with sugar and spice. awesome face

But in all seriousness, he's not wrong. It makes very little sense to move Lehner at this point in time. Lehner would also absolutely not want to be moved to a team where the taxes are higher too, since he's currently bankrupt.

Are you sure about that? Or are numbers hard for you to understand where 3 years > 1 year?

Nice to see mods opening and selectively supporting trolling. Makes for a more interesting journalistic report wink

Works for the Jackets, altho I'd rather it be for future considerations so we can continue to make comments about owning Mozyakin's rights even though he hasn't played in two years. wink

Not sure why but I was under the impression he only had 1 year left also. So fair criticism there. Either way that has nothing to do with my comment which was in regards to the original comment of Vegas not needing to trade a player on LTIR, which is still valid. Until Lehner comes off LTIR, there is no need to move him. In fact he helps Vegas more by being on LTIR.

As for your unnecessary criticism, I'd cool it. The post above was not trolling in the slightest. No need to get all bent up over it.

As he only has a 5 team no trade list next season, you potentially could get him to go to Anaheim, but I'm not sure Anaheim takes him unless you send us a guy like White cloud or Hafel, as you'll be tying up the free cap space we need to go sign defensive D UFAs with carrying two starting goalie salaries.

Chicago and Buffalo will both be in need of starting goalies, but not sure you'll convince Lehner to go back to Buffalo. Send could potentially take him back.

Problem is, with so many goalies on the FA market this year, it's a **** time to try and move an expensive goalie coming off a season missing injury.

If only you had access to a website that clearly illustrated his contract status.

I'm not bent out of shape, I'm embarrassed for you both. Not only for the bad contract take, which you doubled down on, but that you'd triple down on Vegas paying a backup 5M for another 3 years since they found 2 proper netminders this year.

Maybe comment less and learn more? Oh wait, how else do you collate 20k and 50k comments, without spice naturally.

Most embarrassingly, you [MOD] will delete this comment.
