    DeBrincat is good and all, but is he THAT good? No, the Rangers quickly decline. Also, Lindgren is not a throw in, he is a fantastic defenseman on a great deal

    It would be the reason Vegas HAD to move him. Whitecloud isn't going to bump anyone in the top 4. Hutton and McNabb are just as good only McNabb is signed for 3 years which suits Vegas because they really need the cap space. Plus if Formenton clears the WJC which that trade totally hinges upon? He's a guy who can play on your 2nd or 3rd line and score you 20 goals and is lethal on the PK. I stand by that trade, again provided Formenton clears the legal stuff. If he does? Formenton's value is not cheap.

    Yes obviously.... I actually had a scenerio where Ottawa wins and trades Bedard.... NOIT THAT THEY WOULD... But wanted to see what people would think of the value in return. I had the trade;

    To ANA;

    C. Bedard

    To Ott;

    J. Drysdale, M. McTavish, 3rd overall (according to tankathon lol), and 2024 1st rounder.

    Steep price for ANA but Bedard is a Generational talent. Lets be honest whoever gets Bedard isn't ever going to move him. Part of the reason it would be so high is because you're likely getting a point per game player at ELC salary for 3 full seasons. Ana would still have Zegras, Terry, Comtois, Zellwegar, Gaucher, and Luneau to build around.... Ana is really the only team that could do the trade in my opinion.

    Rangers don't have the cap for DeBrincat, and besides it's an overpay by the Rangers.
    How can cost efficient (Whitecloud) be surplus? Teams need 7 or 8 NHL calibre Dmen. Now your trade cost makes sense just in personnel but not the Whitecloud statement

    There’s not a scenario where we trade Whitecloud, especially a scenario where we pay lol

    Martinez is definitely the guy that they would be moving as much as they love him if someone had to go. He's already been shopped before if I'm not mistaken last off-season or during this one.

    Doesn't matter if he's better than Whitecloud, he's a 35 yo dman who has a ton of miles on him, with a 5.25m cap hit, and one year left on his contract. If they need cap, it only makes sense to move him. Moving Whitecloud who has almost half the cap hit and 5 more years doesn't help from a cap perspective.

    Lindgren is extremely valuable. He is perfect for Fox and is elite defensively on a cheap deal. Rangers probably don't accept even for Lindgren and a first

    Yeah removing the picks would make more sense

    DeBrincat for Lafreniere + Lindgren

    Problem is Lindgren not a RHD and that's what the Sens need

    Formenton was a very high quality young player before the scandal was made known (lead the league in SH goalies as a rookie, scored 13 more goals at ES), he is the 2nd fastest skater behind McDavid

    It's still possible that he comes back next year but who knows at this point? He might have ruined his career though

    Nobody is going to trade for him now lol (as it would be surprising that any of these guys from the 2018 Team Canada are going to be traded until the situation is "resolved")

    Look at Mitch Miller situation. People never learn.

    What a waste of talent if the guy is guilty

    I could very well see us trading for Formenton, but he doesn’t hold much if any value. A 3rd at the absolute most. The problem is you have Whitecloud going back the other way which just doesn’t happen. Not for anything less than a first +

    He currently has ZERO value because of the Team Canada scandal situation hanging over his head. We don't know if he's guilty but it's impossible to not be suspicious as he's the only RFA not in the NHL this season. And it's not because of a contract dispute or a separation with the team as pretty much every team would have traded for him in different circumstances

    If his name gets cleared, then he has pretty significant value again. No team will be able to get him for a 3rd if that happens.

    Before the scandal, Sens fans wouldn't have traded him for anything less than a Top-15 pick, some were even saying a top-10 pick (a guy with NHL scouting experience notably)

    Formenton shouldn't be proposed in ACGMs, it's just not realistic right now. I have no idea why people keep throwing him. Must be some kind of ignorance regarding the situation

    So it's impossible for people to say if Formenton for Whitecloud would make sense as people judgment is heavily influenced by the context

    Any team giving an asset to trade for him would be stupid (potential PR nightmare too)

    Ottawa would be as stupid to trade him now (lowest value possible) unless they were offered a very good asset. Might as well wait and see what happens.
