Where did you see that? The Panthers need to clear $3M; I dont see how that deal helps them at all.

Duclair and Puljujarvi both make $3,000,000 per each. So if Florida needs to clear cap space. This makes absolutely 0 sense.

And FYI Kapanen makes $3,200,000 Duclair $3,000,000 so it doesn't work cap wise.

Mehh on Henrique?

Sending us two bottom 6 guys and a few picks for Henrique. McGinn might be a guy we would like to have, Blueger not, but hes a pending UFA so falls off soon. The third this year (NJ) will be late, so I would want PITT 2nd to be 23 not 24.

A third line of Vatrano-Lundestrom-McGinn could be a royal pain in the ass for other teams to play against.

There's no pressing urgency for us to want to trade Adam Henrique, so two bottom-6 veteran forwards (one a UFA), a future second and a pair of thirds aren't a sufficient or satisfactory package at all.

Give us your 2023 first and we'll give you Henrique with 50% retention (then you'd have $3 million in cap space, not $156,492) plus the Minnesota 2023 third.

That's not a trade that does anything for SJ. We know his stock is down but we can still get a 5th for Reimer.

If Hextall would agree to trading Rutta and a 4th for a fifth, Karmanos would most likely say yes.
The Sabres should have claimed off of waivers in January 2019.
