Last year, Coga16 and many other Avs fans said Lehkonen was a 3rd liner worth at most a 3rd round Pick. Since then, i believe all Avs fans know nothing about players value.

By "true" 2C I mean someone that isn't trying to punch above their weight; Horvat is definitely a very good 2C on a team like the Avs. He's also shooting 50% above his career average this season so that can regress at any moment. I think the Canucks should get whatever they can for him and they should ask for a lot but the Avs can't afford it and shouldn't try for him since he'd be a pure rental.

Yeah, it's pretty common for fans to overvalue their own players and undervalue those from other teams, especially those that aren't stars. Still, Monahan isn't worth a 1st if for no other reason than his recent injury history. No team should give up much of value for a guy that it can be reasonably assumed will miss more time for the team trading for him.
