Can people please stop?

1) JJP isn't being traded.
2) BUF shouldn't trade their 2023 1st...can you explain why?
3) Why would Meier sign for $8.5mm when he is due $10mm...makes no sense.

The 2023 1st alone will be better than Meier, and cheaper.
JJP alone will also be better than Meier.

Hard f***** pass.

1) I agree
2) disagree (their prospect pool is stacked and it’s not going to be a top 15 pick)
3) because he’s worth 8.5 and taking his qualifying offer can be dangerous if he gets injured or doesn’t perform well on a new team. Also a qualifying offer doesn’t mean a player has to sign for that amount. Kotkaniemi’s qualifying offer was 6 mill but he signed for much less

If it doesn't you walk away. Still don't think we need to use one of Quinn or JJ. But Kulich takes the sting away a bit if JJ was included.

Prospect pool is stacked, so we just give assets away? No. Bad way to manage your assets

Do you know Claude Lemieux? And especially his history with BUF? No way he takes $1.5mm less. Cap is going way up. Meier is a great player. Why would he take an underpay when he has ZERO reason to do so? Explain.

He can't, just like you say he's gonna take 10m and nothing less.

Definitely don;t want a physical 34 year old making $10mm in 2033. Just bad.

Too much youth. Quinn, Peterka, Cozens, Krebs, Ostlund, Kulich, Savoie, Rosen. If you trade any single one of the last 5 and a pick, your prospect pool barely takes a hit and you’re getting a point per game player. It’s a no brainer . Idk what you’re on about.

Because there’s no wingers making that much. Pastrnak is gonna get around 10-10.5 ish and Meier is not better than him. Meier’s comparable is probably around 8.5-9. No way he gets more than that

Too much youth for what? We don't want a 30-year-old Meier when we are ready to compete.

We're young. And our trajectory is pretty clear. In 2025 or 2026 we will be good. Meier will not be great by then and be costing $10mm.

Meier isn't winning us a Cup this year or next. Hard Pass.

Hard pass for you not your GM that is trying to trade for him lmao . It makes too much sense not to go for it. Meier is an upgrade and your prospect pool doesn’t take a hit

An upgrade over what? We're the highest scoring team in the league.

A defensive d-man upgrades BUF.

2023 1st round picks are gold and JJP is a unicorn.

This is a hard pass.

Gving up 4 assets for 1 is NEVER an upgrade. But if you have examples of that being that case, I'm all ears.

There’s no Defensive Dman available rn. Take your chances and sign mayfield in the off-season to play with Power .

Yea, way better idea, Or trading for Mayfield now.

Plenty available:
McCabe
Mayfield
Schenn
Murphy

BUF doesn't need more scoring, lol.

Timo is only 26, you act like he's old. Maybe he doesn't this year, but with a few tweaks and it could be sooner than later.

Not winning us a Cup this year. 27 next year.

When he signs an 8 year deal that means, 28-36. That's almost always a bad idea.

I think it's safe to say JJP > Meier in years 2025-2032.

He won't be able to sign a 8yr extension until a year after the trade. He will get a 7yr I would think.

Noooooooooo!! He just turned 26 a few months ago, so if they trade and sign him to a extension. He will barely be 27 when that extension kicks in. He would be a good get, No I would not like to lose JJ, but Kulich will ease that pain a bit.

NHL players reach their performance peak around 24-25 and sustain it until 32-34.

My son will tell you my head exploded when Murray traded for Lehner and O'Reilly on 2015 draft day.
Both Quinn and Peterka have more goals than Meier had pts at the same age.
Kulich, Savoie, Peterka, Quinn, possibly the 2023 1st and others may all produce nearly as well as Meier (if Jeramiah Crowe can continue his magic).
I have been a season ticket holder since day one, so few people want to see a cup more than I.
If I can wait a few more years for another run at the cup, lets hope other fans can as well.
This team has not peaked but will be good for 8 to 10 more years, let's be patient.
Sign Johnson, Portillo and Levi.
Hunt for a couple of defensemen and the Sabres will be fine.

You are correct plus I take all of this too seriously.
If we are going to dream big.
Maybe after his contract runs out after the 2024-25 season Jakob Chychrun decides to renew his relationship with the Pegulas and he signs with the Sabres.
That is dreaming BIG.

Well, if I was to think any trade might happen this year it would be Chychrun. The lines of communication are open between Buffalo and Arizona. They have been for years. If they were willing to pay the Bonus ROR probably would have been a Coyote. Buffalo at that time had a better offer from Arizona than St. Louis. Domi at that time was involved and a few other pieces one young unknown guy named Conor Garland. But they didn't want to pay the bonus so they traded Domi to Montreal. I hated TM with a passion. He was given a treasure trove of assets and basically threw them away in 2yrs.
