Description
The Canucks are in a very awkward position, due to their current position in the standings, cap situation, and prospect pool. The team lacks a true sense of direction, which basically sums up the last 10 years of Canucks hockey.
Trades are both made at the deadline.
LA has been a team to watch for a potential Horvat trade according to Satiar Shah. They have a plethora of RD in the system, and 4 or 5 are very capable NHL calibre defensemen. Grans and Walker look to be the odd ones out, especially once Clarke is aboard full time. Turcotte has yet to materialize into the stud 1st line center he was drafted to be, and instead move him for a scoring center in his prime. LA is hoping that he turns out to be anywhere near as good as Horvat is now. Horvat would make LA one of the best face-off teams of all time, with Kopitar and Danault in particular. It is time for LA to ascend into the true contenders they can be.
Vancouver gets the “reclamation” project JR has been looking for in Turcotte, and fill a dire positional need in RD.
Foote for Schenn seems to be imminent, yet there will likely be late picks exchanged on both sides as well.

Overall this team seems more geared towards future endeavours, instead of dwelling in mediocrity.

LA laugh and pass, C is the very last thing they need. And they're not giving up those pieces for a rental in Bo Horvat. Not even close.

LA deal is interesting. I don't see them as a Horvat suitor, I see teams like the Kraken as a better fit. Kings don't really need another 2-way centerman let alone the fact that Horvat is asking for at least 8 mil.

Just speculation based on reports by Satiar Shah. This is likely what Horvat will cost, and I don’t feel as though they really give up much. Not having to deal their first this year and still net Horvat could be very enticing.

Horvat has been far from a 2-way centerman this season, aside from his face-offs.

The Kings can't afford a 3rd center making as much as Horvat will command on his extension. They'd much rather stick with Turcotte, who is on a six-figure contract and has the potential to become just as good as Horvat.

Turcotte has stagnated in his development curve. Horvat helps them win now, and they can resign them if they please.

No he hasn't. He's been injured a lot, which has definitely delayed his development, but he has looked very good this season while he has been healthy. I'd much rather have Turcotte at $895k than Horvat at 10x that much.

The Kings aren't prepared to go all-in this season. Their window isn't open yet. No one views them as legitimate contenders this season, so it would be foolish to trade quality prospects for rentals. If the Kings had the need or cap space to extend him, then they might be willing to give up a significant haul, but the return value shown here is silly if they intend to let him walk in July.

Kings would much rather use those assets in a package to address much more obvious problem on the back end then on a rental that they wouldn't be able to resign. If the Kings were better off on the back end and they were making a very serious Stanley cup push this would be interesting and entertaining to watch. The offense Horvat is producing I think would be super fun to watch on a team that could keep up with him.

Why is Foote to Vancouver inevitable? I believe unfortunately his time in TB is nearing an end. Why though is TB "destined to bring back a guy they didn't offer a contract to just a year and a half ago? Because Elliot Friedman said I could see this he never said sources close to the Lightning or reliable sources I have said..... he said I could see . Speculation by him educated speculation by reason of cap and familiarity. Speculation none the less.
