Pretty sure the blues would ask for a 2023 first plus something small. We could take a cap dump back to make the salary work as long as its not a multi year deal.

what I do know is that the isles window is closed and that they will be forced into a rebuild. You can clone two tarasenko's and two chychruns and put them on the isles, they would still miss the playoffs. This is the least skilled roster in the NHL. Adding a 2nd liner and 2nd pair D wont change that.

I would rather use the word Retool over Rebuild for the Islanders future. They need to get draft capital and get players through free agency over the summer

I think it will take 3 years of finishing bottom 10 for the isles to become contenders again around dobson/barzal.

panarin and fox aren't coming to save the isles. They got a bit lucky. They'd still be in a rebuild if it weren't for those 2
