Does Josh Anderson have the numbers to back that up? By the eye test he's awful. Does he win face-offs and shut down other teams' top players? Is he a point per game player? Does he play on the top line on a top 5 team in the NHL? Finally, is there a consensus among fans, media, and analysts that Josh Anderson is an exceptional 2-way player? No, No, No, No, and No. I'm talking about results and you're talking about an abstract concept. Why have scouts? Why not just trust your charts and graphs? Because they're misleading and you can cherrypick them to fit your argument. You cannot cherrypick results. Hockey is a team game. It's not like baseball where you thrive on analytics. Never will be.

Can you prove Hischier is one of the top two way centers in the game? That's all I ask bud. There's at least 30 forwards (including jack Hughes) who are significantly better defensively than Hischier. The only reason Hischier gets overrated defensively is because he has good work ethic. He's an average defensive forward.

Yah, anytime I see a team with a large amount of trades, or a trade with more then like 6 pieces I find a different team to critique. Trades like that do not happen in real life.

Hughes should be a candidate if he keeps it up. But don’t underestimate the amount of hate Hughes draws from a good chunk of hockey world. I do not know why, but it’s real.

And I think Perfetti should be #2 for Calder.

Hughes - plays with puck the whole time, so less defense to play.

Hischier - faces oppositions top line, gets more dzone starts
