Interesting Domi trade proposal. The Chicago early 2023 4th and the Colorado 2023 mid to late 3rd are basically a wash since 3rd and 4th rounders are basically lottery picks and long shots to play in the NHL. So it comes down to Domi for 2 younger players - defenseman Hajek and forward prospect Rydahl. Hawks really don't need any more youthful LD. Send along another forward instead of Hajek and Davidson might accept if he likes them. TBH, he'll probably just prefer a 2023 2nd round pick, Ottawa's preferably, instead of the prospects.

Sorry, but no no no. Not interesting in the least bit. Rydahl is a 28 year old the NYR's were hoping could come over from the SHL and be a depth piece but is struggling in the AHL and will probably return to sweden as soon as the season ends. Hajek is a reclamation project with little to no value who plays a position we don't need in the least bit. Also, the pick swap is essentially trading up 10-15 picks from the 4th round into the 3rd round, which is useless. This trade is awful for CHI.

Not too clear on the Formenton situation- I do believe a deadline has passed by which he would have signed to play this year...In any case, I think he's somehow mixed in the allegations against the Team Canada Junior Team from a few years back. Several players have gone out of their way to distance themselves from whatever happened- haven't heard a peep from Formenton (or his agent)...yet remained unsigned. Not a good look. Not looking to pass bad info- if I'm wrong here...please someone clarify. But if he was in fact involved in whatever happened during that tournament- he probably wont be welcome in the NHL any time soon.

It was during the Hockey Canada Foundations Golf and Gala event months after the WJC-20. No specifics have come out about that whole situation yet, but, using process of elimination, I think it is pretty clear that Formenton is the main culprit in the whole thing. I think they are trying to keep things hush hush, sweep it under the rug, and hope everyone just forgets about it while Formenton just fades away in Europe. Same thing CHI has been doing with the Beach situation. They think getting rid of everyone and moving on is enough. But it really isn't, and they are going to need to talk publicly and openly sooner or later.

That all being said, yeah, Formenton holds little to no value at this time, and most likely will never play in the NHL again.

Thanks for the response. I looked at Rydahl's bio and stats and must have missed he is 28. Thought he may have some potential, but thanks for setting me right.

I have a spreadsheet saved that someone from twitter created way back to collect facts and make deductions on "who (possibly) dun it", but I can't find the actual photo online anymore. So, I can't actually share it on capfriendly at the moment without publishing it somewhere and embedding it, which I'm not going to do because it's not actually my research.

No problemo. I'm glad you received my response well. Wasn't trying to make you look stupid or anything like that. I just thought it was a big enough "whoopsie" that it required correcting. haha

Thanks for that info...unfortunately it supports what I was thinking. Coupled with the NHL's track record for dealing with "uncomfortable issues", does seem his future is all about Europe.
