The prospect pool doesn't have the top quality players needed in their respective team positions of need to sway either of these teams from demanding a first rounder. And in Meier's case, you don't have enough top prospects to cover multiple first rounders.

The only deal that looks accurate based on market value is the Kerfoot deal. He is worth about a 4th. Maybe a 3rd. He averages 42 points/year over his career (based on 82 game season).
