As for Rutherford, I won’t say he is the greatest GM, but he is one of the most loyal people I know, and Maurice’s second run in Carolina is very much proof of that. So I can safely say that Rutherford was almost certainly forced into firing Bruce by the Aqualinis, and more than likely Allvin as well. I would also take a bet that Rutherford isn’t really the one holding the keys to the car either.

Rutherford is definitely the one that fired Bruce. He never wanted him as HC. Aqua signed Bruce as HC before he even got Rutherford to come in as President.

The Canucks could fetch a 1st, Dylan Coghlan and Drury for Horvat trade and sign. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kotkaniemi finds himself out of Carolina whether in this trade or a subsequent trade. The Canes are known for not spending big on rentals and are willing to walk from marquee players (ex. Dougie Hamilton), so the only way the trade works is if Horvat extends.
