2022 preseason do-over

Créé par: AG_sweden
Équipe: 2022-23 Rangers de New York
Date de création initiale: 21 janv. 2023
Publié: 21 janv. 2023
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
- this would have been the responsible thing to do.
- I like Trocheck but that was so not a signing this team needed. A bit more patience would have been nice.
- Better having Chytil, Kakko or Laffy battling for that 1st unit pp time.
- This has nothing to do with, is this a better team... of course it isn't... but it is what they should have done.
- Obviously Kuzmenko would have been a nice acquisition but I didn't want to start ww3 on this site, so I left it like this... Or resign Vatrano as well (but he asked for too much)... but this looks weak enough to look interesting.
- I know it painful but this is what they should have done...

This team is stupid for some of the signings. There’s no long term or even medium term planning to it. They wonder why they end up in precarious cap situations but they’re so short sighted in the contracts they give out. It’s honestly sad to see.

Typical of NYR. I been a fan of this team since 94. Big reward first year but been mostly painful ever since then...

Was born in ‘97 so I never got to see that one. Since the 1st days of Hank I’ve followed this team and other than a couple of good years, it’s been pretty disappointing.

I don't want to brag but I actually played with Hank, on some Summer hockey camp thingy in Sweden, with his brother. And played with Loui Eriksson (same team), and played against Fredrik Sjöström a lot when I was younger. But don't worry I was never going to become like NHL player...

That’s pretty cool. Must’ve been really cool to see him succeed and know you were a part of the journey.

Yes it is, but I also came face to face with what it takes to ger that far. I went there to have fun, basically. But for Hank it was business. He was upset at the goalie drills (I was also goalie) and the laid back training's, and was very unhappy with the goalie coach. I was like 13 years old and didn't have any of those things on my list of priorities 🙃

Zero chance we would have went into season with no 2c. We'd be floundering and scrambling for one by now, it'd be expensive and to late, then again next year, just setting us back even more. Compared to other ufa c options, Trocheck was the right pick. I think I was the only NYR last year to praise Chytils future, everyone else wanted him gone for a mid pick lol. If any of the kid line would have exploded then we wouldn't have signed Trocheck, yet we would've had to pay up on them. We have our core, we need cheap heavy depth...

I just feel like they trying to cover up their own cowardness - nothing wrong with having a "bad" season after a good one, especially when they have cap issues and let the answer come from within instead.
In hindsight I think this would have been the much more responsible route to take. What you just described is what I think the problem with this entire org is.
They think everything can be solved by throwing money at it.

My wish during 2022 preseason was for them to pick up Sam Steel and Sonny Milano to fill out the lineup. I was dreading yet another huge free agent signing.
You gonna say stuff like I am a potato, I don't know hockey and stuff like that, and it is okay. You do you and I will do me.
