So not only do you have the Rangers taking 2 cap dumps, but you have them giving up Lafreniere to do so? How could they ever say no?

Mini doesn't have the cap (or desire) for Boesner for the future seasons. Same with Rangers....even 6m Miller for eight years seems pricey for them. Ferland's LTIR meaningless.
That is horrid for Seattle.

Horvat deal is what I'd want for him to go play next 8 years in Seattle.

Minnesota deal is too much for Boeser. If they are trading for Boeser need more salary going back for next year and so.

NY no longer interested in Miller and can't afford next year onwards

No competent GM is gonna be mesmerized by Horvat's one great season (this season), He's a traditional 65 point player. Eight years seem too long by any reasonable standard..

I do think people outside are looking Horvat a little harsh. He's never had great offensive teammates most of his time here the best offensive player he got consistent time with was Tanner Pearson. He's also one of the best Faceoff men in the League honestly last calendar year he's focused more on being offensive after getting pigeon holed into a Defensive Center role with us while still putting up 60ish points. He is okay Defensively being put up against the 2nd line he's fine defensively but when expected to shut down the top lines of the league he struggles. And what isn't mentioned other then he's gaudy shooting percentage is that he's been smartly finding the soft spots in the other teams to get the high scoring chances and being one of the best shot tipper in the league this year.

I do think for a resigned Horvat which Seattle by all accounts would want to do. Paying Shane Wright who will a very good prospect can still be a bust and mid to late 1st round pick is the price I'd want a Division rival to pay for Horvat. Is it too much that's debatable would I want the same price from Detroit or Columbus. No but don't have to face them 4+ times a year.

Two teams that are looking at centres next season on the UFA market would be Wings and Columbus. But they aren't paying a premium to acquire him this season. The only teams that should be interested in acquiring Horvat or any high priced rental is true Cup contenders.....which isn't Seattle.

You and others are talking like Horvat is 100% not signing an extention with any team that trades for him. And that he just wants to go "home" which makes 0 Sense since his "home" team would be Detroit? And would Detroit pay a fair price if it meant they could re-sign Larkin and do a trade and sign with Horvat? They should. I was just saying for those 2 teams I would take less then what I would from Seattle.

And that is bit myopic of a view point that only contenders should trade for Horvat he isn't turning 38 he's turning 28 he'll be in his prime for the next few years and If the GM thinks that Seattle would be better for the next few years or 8 years with Horvat over Shane Wright+ they should trade them. If being a high pick was a guarantee for NHL results why isn't Laffy or Kaako top players in the league or why did Ottawa draft Daigle over Pronger and Kariya, or Yakupov being 1st overall. I'm not a big Wright fan I do think he will be a capable NHLer in the future. But I don't think he going to be a franchise player. I think he'll be a good 2nd line player or 1st line player with the right teammates. It's just he is by far outside of Beniers Seattle's best prospect so I would want him in return for a Horvat that would be willing to sign an extention with Seattle I understand if he's going full rental return is diminished. so that would change teams willing to pay the most to Team's like the Rangers, Vegas, I do think if Horvat is traded he will sign a more team friendly deal that what Vancouver's offered mainly because Allvin and Rutherford never entered into talks with fairness gave him a low ball insult of a first offer and they literally acted like Miller was more important to Vancouver then Horvat was.

The only times Miller will ever play at MSG again is in a visiting team's sweater. Very, very, very easy NO THANKS from the Rangers.
