These entertainers ( reporters) who write about hockey trades, usually don't have any appreciation for a teams long term cap. Ekholm for Batherson could be a trade, but not by trading just one year of Zaitsev. Gee why do Sens need another LHD?

I doubt that we would trade Matt Roy for futures unless we had some other deal signed to address our LhD weakness, and I doubt that we would trade Sean Walker for a third (let alone a fifth). We might trade Walker for Kleven, though.

Walker's value is pretty low , the might just hold him and see if they can boost that value in the off season.

I would certainly consider it, and if the scouting staff thought it was a good idea and the front office made that trade, I certainly wouldn't get out the torches and pitchforks.

But given Holden's UFA status, I can't see it being a likely possibility.

An underwhelming defensive prospect and a 1st and 2nd? Taking zaitsav will cost you another 2nd. I think it’s a good offer and if I’m Poile I’d consider it if you’re selling Ekholm
