Based on what has been reported, Canucks are having a hard time moving him bc of his contract. You probably don’t have to give up 3 good assets for him while taking him at his full cap hit

defense isn’t great, and the price is too high.

As a under valued add sure.

Boeser has looked a lot better recently. Wouldn’t trade him yet but this would be the value for him when he’s 100%

Boeser won't cost that much. I'm sure a 2nd would do it. Just don't make van take kotkaniemi, I think his contract is horrible.

Canes likely hold onto KK. I think the Canes expected the contract to be somewhat inefficient early on, but above market value as he matures (he's only 22). I think he's ideally a defense-first 3C similar to what Jordan Staal is right now, and his contract pretty much fits that (being less than what Staal is making right now).

I dont watch the canes much. To me he's getting paid to much. Hopefully he becomes a defensive superstar because almost $5mil is alot. And staal is a leader not sure kk will get there.

A 2nd might get it done. I think after most probably 2nd + Coghlan would probably be peak value. Maybe Boeser and Burroughs (just as a replacement level D in case of injuries) for Coghlan and a 2nd?

If the Canucks are moving his entire contract, I get the sense a 2nd is too high. CAR values their cap space and could probably pay a 2nd to get Tarasenko and maintain their flexibility over the next couple years. Maybe a 3rd gets it done or Coghlan on his own?

Canes are way more likely to spend a 2nd on Boeser than Tarasenko. Canes like term.

Do they like term or value for term? I think it comes down to whether they think Boeser is surplus value on his contract the next 2 years, which I’m not sure if he is. I think VAN needs to retain to get a 2nd to put him in surplus value territory.
