Kings are one of the better scoring teams in the league, they need LD support and to solidify defense, so you move away their guy playing top-4 LD minutes and one of their best defensive forwards for a guy who isn't great defensively but can help them in an area they don't need help in.

ah yes, trade one of the best value contract players at almost a ppg for a overrated Dman that is worst defensively than Zub and a bottom 6 player making 4M.

Durzi is on the same PPG pace as Chabot at a 1/4th of the cap hit and Iafallo is currently a top-6 player with Danault, and has played most of his career as a top-6 player. Durzi has also got a heck of a lot better defensively as of late.

This is heavily in favor of Ottawa.

So basically neither Ottawa or LA fans are happy with this one. Nice

Batherson has 5 more points than any LAK player not named Fiala. He's a 70 pt 1st liner on a sweet contract.
You're getting the best player in the trade. "Heavily in favour of Ottawa" just makes you sound like a homer.
I think its pretty even for both sides

Iafallo and Durzi are a good start on a package for Chabot or Sanderson. Unfortunately for us, you're not trading either of them no matter how much reasonable stuff we add, so there really isn't a fit there.

By the way, Durzi is a top-4 RhD and second-unit power-play quarterback, and Iafallo on a bad day is twice the defensive player Batherson will ever be and cheaper too so yeah, this trade would be heavily in favor of Ottawa. Not taking anything away from Batherson -- he's a fine offensive player.

I'd rather have Iafallo than Batherson. Iafallo is one of the most underrated players in the NHL.

LA says no.

I think we can agree his points are heavily due to him playing with higher skilled forwards like Stutzle, Tkachuk, and Debrincat. He is a PP specialist who is a defensive liability which justifies his contract and has the worst plus/minus on the entire team.

I would rather roll into a playoff game with Iafallo for 20 minutes a night than Batherson. Personally speaking.

Batherson would really benefit playing with Danault and a NHL coaching staff but understand your point

I'm not really interested in doing that because I want to fix management/coaching before I ship any important player out. Batherson's contract can be highly beneficial to a team wanting to contend

Batherson could be adequate defensively (will never be named for the Selke) under a NHL system. The current Sens coaching have absolutely no idea how to teach and instill 2-way hockey

The fact that Dorion and DJ have been there for so many years is nothing more than a comedy at this point. They are way over their heads
