I don't think the Caps would want Neuvirth's Cap Hit as a backup so the Flyers would probably have to retain up to 50% to make that deal work. The Caps could do better for Grubauer than taking the Flyers junk drawer. A second (no conditions) and Neuvirth 50% retained gets that deal done.

The Flyers are overpaying for Drouin here especially at that cap hit to sign him. The Flyers could make a better salary cap trade for players with better contracts and get prospects for Simmonds. Long story short, I'm not sold on Drouin as a $5 million player.

Obviously I glanced over the whole expansion draft selection of Grubauer by Vegas and the subsequent trade. I still don't think Grubauer gets to Vegas. The Caps will move him.

Drouin would be a luxury. The Flyers already have a similar type player in Konecny. I'd rather look to move Simmonds to strengthen another position than wing. His value is very high right now probably as high as it every will be.

Washington can easily find a goalie to expose instead of Holtby if they traded Grubauer. Don't act like that's some insurmountable obstacle.

Chicago's cap situation cannot handle that deal.

The goalie doesn't have to be on their roster today. They could easily trade a 7th rounder for a scrap veteran AHL goaltender to expose or ask for one to be included in a deal for Grubauer. That was my point.

But please continue to make everything rocket science.
