Yes I agree Tocchet isn't the answer. In hindsight signing J.T wasn't the best move but at the same time maybe Bo already made it clear he didn't want to stick around.

I'm not sure what his trade value is (or if he'd have value) at 4.76m. It wouldn't be much more than a mid pick imo. I'd be happy if they could move him and personally wouldn't hesitate to do it at at even further retention if necessary. He's not a good fit at all. Maybe elsewhere he would be. With how poorly the season has gone, I wonder if he would consider waiving if they pressed a move.

Further retention would be fantastic. Is it worth it instead of buying him out though. Next year’s buyout is so cheap that it really tips the scales for a buyout.

A full 50% retention would have the Canes interested for sure but can Vancouver replace that production for under 3.75 million for 4 years.

I've seen some other acgms with a player like Soucy replacing him. A more physical defender would be fine if they could pay within that $ amount.
