Mike Grier would have to be a moron to not jump on this immediately. Huge overpay by Seattle. Dude is 32 with a massive cap hit (even with retention), has four more years after this season, and while he's having a great year, has been mediocre at best for the last few seasons.

This is a wild overpay. Kind of think with this retention, removing both firsts and wright makes it fair.

He’s not top 20, but sure. Go ahead and pretend that because that horrible contract is freelancing on a terrible team and grabbing some points, that he’ll magically have value.

Im not going to say its easy, and will involve lots of money moving. But if you get this guy at 8 million it is absolutely worth some firsts.

Getting him at $8M gets it into the territory of, “fine, we’ll take him for future considerations.”

They are! On the second pair playing sheltered minutes. All those wonderful points and he’s -5. That’s a joke. Put him out there in the playoffs against competent top six guys and enjoy losing 7-3.
