I don’t think this on lambert, their record would be the same or worse under Trotz. The issue is Lou is married to certain vets like cizikas, clutter, palmieri and refused to upgrade the forwsrd group with actual creative forwards .

The isles need more modern thinking people running the show. Almost all of the cup contenders have a relatively young core.

Trotz would get rid of Dobson and Barzal if he was the GM - and trade for Leddy. I am 100% serious.

The biggest problem this year has been the powerplay. When that was decent toward the beginning of the season, the team looked OK; they've gone into a tailspin since the PP effectiveness cratered, and they had the same crappy powerplay under Trotz, so he's not the answer either.

I don't care if they keep Lou on as the president (for all of his faults, he did get rid of the Mickey Mouse nonsense we had to put up within under previous management), but they need a GM under him that can find a way to add a scorer and assemble a more effective roster.

The previous general manager is the guy who drafted three elite top four d men (Pelech, Pulock, Toews) and got the draft pick that became Noah Dobson in the Hamonic deal. That guy also traded Reinheart for the pick that became Barzal and one of the picks that was traded to reacquire Beau. Lou came in, won a couple playoff series, and now he’s like a kid trying to clean everything up before mom and dad get home. But everything looks a little ****ed up since Garth left lol. Not sure Lou has been “better” at a lot of the stuff that matters.

If you think the Garth Snow era and the Lamiorello era are even remotely similar, I don’t know what to tell you.
