Swapped the convo from EDM to PIT for variety.

Not to change the subject but Dorion was in attendance for the LA game last night. You guys have RD , and the Sens need RD without spending more than 3 mill on one for next year

Sean Walker (short-term), Sean Durzi (long-term), Jordan Spence (future) -- there are a lot of options there. Sanderson is out of range, of course, but I've sensed a lot of dis-satisfaction with Chabot lately -- but as bad as he may have played recently, he's still an upgrade at LhD for us.

Is Grans close to nhl ready? Honestly I’ll take any of those guys except Walker . Also how is Durzi on the defensive side?

I wonder if he was looking at Addison. I know you guys are high on Pinto but that’s my left field framework.

Based on everything I know, they either want a 2 way D that’s above average defensively to play with Sanderson or they’re looking for a more defensive guy to play with Chabot. Idk if Addison or Walker or Spence is what they need . Dorion didn’t want to trade Pinto for Chychrun so unless a RD that’s better than Chychrun is coming back, I can’t see a deal

Well then that’s Dumba. I’ll still dream about somehow getting Pinto.

Durzi is doing as well as can be expected on the left side -- he deserves to play on the right side for the rest of his career. His perceived defensive deficiencies are outweighed by his performance quarterbacking the second-unit power play and he'll outgrow them, in any event.

Walker isn't a bad stopgap idea while Thomson and Bernard-Docker mature another season because he won't cost you much and he's in your cap price range. Don't be so quick to dismiss him.

Grans isn't ready quite yet. Spence is ready for 2023-2024; Grans is one season behind, in my opinion.

JBD is nhl ready. Imo you either play JBD on the 2nd pair and get a strong 3rd pair guy or you play JBD on pair 3 and get a medium 2nd pair guy

I'm aware that JBD is now ready, but that doesn't mean that you should throw him in there opposite another talented, but inexperienced, youngster. Kids, even projected All-Stars, like Sanderson and Drysdale progress best when paired with guys like Matt Roy.

Pens decline. Also, I saw Russo reporting that the coaching was scratching him for his recent play and that it wasn't good enough.

I don’t think they trade him unless the return is quite large. But it’s the Horvat stuff that gets me. He makes sense for the Wild right now but it would be a long term mistake for the team. If they can get multiple top 40 picks in this years draft, they could set themselves up like the Kings or the Devils in the coming years. I would much rather have that than a couple months of Horvat.

Without a doubt!!
