That team wins a cup. Who cares about the next 10 years after that. Trade any of the core 4 after a cup for multiple picks

That team "could" win a Cup. Injuries happen. Goaltending is suspect. Adding 3 players and removing 2 doesn't guarantee a Cup, lol.

Caps have zero interest in that trade.

These Wilson trades have me banging my head against a wall man.

Kerfoot brings nothing important, Robertson's an unappealing prospect and the first would be late. Nothing in that trade makes Washington even consider trading Wilson, let alone retaining half for this and next season. Not to mention that Ovi loves Wilson and as long as Ovi's here, Wilson isn't getting traded anyway, and Washington is contending for a playoff spot so they would have no reason to blow the team up for reasons of charity for Toronto.

I guess I'm in the minority that thinks Nick Robertson can still be a fantastic middle six guy when he's healthy. He's just always injured. But yea, even then there's no reason for the Caps to do this. Any conversation for Wilson would start with Matthew Knies, which isn't happening. The Capfriendly "Wilson to Toronto" pipedream needs to end lol

To be fair to Robertson, my opinion on him has somewhat been shaped by recency bias, but I keep seeing parts of his game that concern me and don't seem to be getting fixed, and the injuries certainly don't help either. You're pretty much spot on with your value, Knies would be the starting piece and I agree Toronto won't consider trading him, so its a wash for both sides.
