No one would do that unless they really hate job security. It never happens and is basically a non factor

Guys are betting on themselves every year. It’s what Matt Tkachuk did and that’s what I expect Timo Meier to do. With absolutely no guarantee that you get him for more than one year, at as money as they were paying Eichel by the way, the Sabres shouldn’t even consider the trade. Never mind the premium of assets the Sharks expect in return. Besides, the Sabres don’t need an elite scoring wing as badly as they need a face-off winning third line center who can kill penalties.

This is way too much for Meier. He's going to be 27 next year. He makes much more sense on a team that is already a SC contender. BUF won't be in that tier until 2024-25 at the earliest and more likely in 2025-26, at which point Meier is 30 years old.

I'd much rather have Mitts in his prime, plus Rosen starting to showcase his talents, plus that 1st coming up the ranks.

hard pass.

I don't think this hurts the Sabres at all with this trade for Timo. Timo is better than Mitts and everything else is a ? mark. Yes the Contract could be a problem, but you have a year to figure it out.

You are giving up 4 prime assets for 1. Not good asset management right there.

Of course it hurts the Sabres.

Sabres are deep at forward, yes the 1st would hurt a bit in this draft, but Timo could easily make up for that. They have 3 2nds to help fill more needs. Sabres are such a young team and have a lot of prospects already about to come through the system, they are gonna be hard pressed to evaluate all of them as it is.

Rosen alone will score more goals than Meier in 3-4 years.

Signing players that are 27yo to 7-8yrs and big money is just a bad idea all the way around.

In this proposal, you have surrendered 26 goals for 26 goals. While also giving away Rosen + 1st for Morrow. Sorry, just doesn't make sense to me.

You can't say that about Rosen, he might turn into another Olofsson. When he is leaned on he disappears. And Morrow could be your future partner for Power. Yes it's dangerous signing players that age, but kinda hard not to When they don't hit FA until there basically 27. And the Sabres are close and Timo could push them to that point or atleast quicker than Rosen would.

Push them to what point? How many points does he add in the standings? 2? 3? Maybe. He's got 3 GWG, same as Olofsson. I just don't see improvement here, not in 3-4 years when the Sabres will be really good.

Yes I gave up 2 players that have scored 26 together for 1 player who can do that himself. While opening a roster spot for Kulich who is probably gonna be better than both of them and adding a possible Top 4 Dman

Kulich is 19...he's years away from being in the NHL and being a good player in it. Meier will cost way too much. Kulich will be a great player and we don't need to open a roster spot for him, he will create his own.

A Possible top-4 Dman. Just go out and get a real one.

Kulich is not years away, might see him after the trade deadline. He played 2yrs of Men's hockey before even being drafted. And yes a possible top 4 Dman, and the Sabres still could go get another Dman to play with Power for right now. Sabres have the assets to do both

How do you figure Kulich is not years away? He's like 200th in the AHL in points. That's like 600th-800th in the NHL...

Quinn and JJP were both top-10 in the AHL in points or points per game in the AHL, and even they are struggling now at the age of 21. Kulich is nowhere near ready.

Mitts + Oloffson >>>>>> Meier + Kulich.

Kulich was on pace with JJ before the holiday break, JJ had a good 2nd half last year. And Timo alone makes up for those 2 and I think Kulich will be fine, Kulich is built like a Tank, Quinn still gets pushed around.

Let's see how Kulich finishes, but he is nowhere near the leader on ROC in points.

Most 19-year-olds do not belong in the NHL. There are a few exceptions, but Kulich is not one of them. Please.

Very true, but he's also played less games than most of them. Hey really like the convo, and it's fun fake spending other people's money

I enjoy it as well. BUF has made major mistakes rushing prospects along. We finally do not need to do that. So why force it? If Kulich proves himself obviously better than a top-12 F on BUF, sure bring him up. He's currently 200th in the AHL.

Very true with Buffalo rushing prospects, I usually don't like doing it. But I have seen him play alot and he is one I think can do it and succeed

OK, obviously we see different players, it's not just about the points, it's other attributes he brings to. But Thanks for the Convo. Not gonna argue over a fake AGM

I love Kulich as a prospect. Doesn't mean I think he is anywhere near NHL ready.

What other attributes? He is a minus player on a winning ROC team.
