Caps hard pass. Mantha is really freakn good and Edmundson is very meh (negative possession stats), plus Caps are loaded LHD. If Caps move Mantha it needs to be for another top 6 winger.

We're more in the market for futures for almost any trade we make. Futures or younger roster players to develop chemistry with the team. Rental Mantha doesn't fit that bill so the only way I could see it happening is a 3-team swap where MTL retains 50% on Mantha and he goes to someone else for futures.

I think there is still a little missing and the Canadians will have to add a 2nd round or a regular player like Jake Evans or a certain Jonathan Kovacevic with 4nd Round.

But this exchange would make sense. The Canadiens don't have to go for just picks, otherwise the club will age badly
