Take out Bolduc and maybe the Isles say yes to Miller for a bunch of trash plus a 2nd. You can keep Stillman too.

I'm normally pretty fair about my trade opinions as we do not follow other teams as closely as our own but what a joke of a trade that caps trade is.

Id do Boeser (0.6 GSVA, 51.6% XGF%, 57% Corsi) for Mantha (1.2 GSVA, 54.6% XGF%, 55% Corsi ) 1 for 1 with maybe a pick swap (Mantha and 2nd for Boeser and 4th). I like Boeser more but he's more expensive and has more term which isn't a positive when he's playing poorly.

Strome (1.4 GSVA, 61.6% XGF%, 60% Corsi ) alone is better than Boeser (0.6 GSVA) and is needed in DC. I wouldn't make a 1 for 1 swap with them.

I don't know a lot about Hoglander but I feel comfortable saying hes better than McMike.

Trades that would work:

Mantha and a second for Boeser and a 3rd/4th
Mantha, McMike, and a second (maybe another pick) for Boeser and Hoglander
Mantha, McMike, and a first or second for Kuzmenko

I expect Strome to be in DC long term however I could see them moving on from Mantha and McMike.

Strome is still playing first line, despite Backstrom being healthy. He's a non-starter in a trade with the Caps right now.

caps pass on that deal even if you take out strome. mantha still more valuable than boeser as he has a much easier contract to deal with. would say mcmichael is around equal to hoglander

the ship has sailed on JT Miller to the Isles. I'd rather spend that $8M on buying Josh Bailey out and signing a guy like Kuzmenko for $5.5-6M AAV instead. Having Miller through his age-37 season at $8M is just begging for an expensive buyout in 2027.
