-Edmonton probably takes this to bolster their LHD depth. Probably the best value for both sides in terms of these trades.
-I can see Pittsburgh thinking about this - Monahan's a significant upgrade over Kapanen, and the trade is basically cap neutral. I still say we need to see Monahan back on the ice before anyone gives up any 1st round pick for him.
-Holy cow, this is bad. Karlsson is an all-world defenseman this year - if you took away every one of his 14 goals this year, he'd still have a 7 point cushion over Nick Suzuki as the Hab's leading scorer. And you're giving them a late 2nd next year, plus sending back a contract that's completely underwater in Gallagher, AND you're asking them to retain an extra $2M over the next 4 years - when you've clearly built a team that can easily afford Karlsson at full freight, by the way? This is horrendously tilted towards Montreal. Easy no from San Jose.
-A third line center, an AHL tweener, and a 4th is not getting you PLD. If you want him that bad, offer something worthwhile - otherwise, Winnipeg will keep him through his last RFA year, sell him as a rental, and get back a better package than this.
-As an advocate for uniting hockey brothers, I appreciate what you're doing here. That being said, no. Tuch profiles out as a decent third liner; Levi has put up the numbers of someone who can turn into a very good NHL goalie. Swap Levi for Erik Portillo and you've probably got a deal; otherwise, no thanks from the Sabres.
-No way from Washington. Struble can wait til August and control his destiny - he has minimal value to any other team until he's got an ELC signed. Saying that Washington would take back that guy while sending you Mantha (and retaining on him as a cap ceiling team??) is bad value for the Caps and, again, a trade that tilts way too hard in Montreal's favor.
-Jesus. Josh Anderson: 12-3-15 in 43 GP this year. Yanni Gourde: 6-23-29 in 43 GP. Gourde also has three 20 goal seasons to his name, including one last year; Anderson has one single 20 goal season 4 years ago. When you factor in that Anderson has more term and a higher AAV, I can't see any reason why Seattle would make this move.
