    Horrible trades for the FLYERS.

DeAngelo at 5mil is producing beyond that contract, he and JVR and retention and 2 3rds for dumba?
Koneckny is signed longer than Kaapo, is outperforming him on a lesser team, (that cant score) and is worth far more

And then giving Kane 9mil? Atkinson doesn;t come back from LTIR? 5 young dmen in top 8? Jackson Cates is your 3C (not the talented brother Noah?)? Your 13th-17th forwards are Noah Cates, Foerester, Laughton, Allison and MacEwen?

    Just some over reaching here

No need to over complicate it that much. Avs keep EJ, Flyers keep Braun. Work out a deal on Hayes 50% retained. It likely won't be the '23 1st either. '24 1st and Bowers would be fine.

No one is trading for Provorov after his actions last night. He's a Flyer until the summer and maybe by then they'll be able to move him.

Wild aren't trading dumba for a bunch of Wingers, lockerroom cancer they don't need in DeAngelo/ and cap dump. Wild don't have cap for both. Wild wouldn't do this

I definitely wouldn't give a 1st for a guy they're talking about buying out that might be available at a discount if they do buy him out. Philly can do a few things:

    1. Keep him and pay him all he is owed (undesirable from their end)
    2. Waive him and hope someone picks him up (unlikely)
    3. Try to find a trade partner that will take him on at full-freight (unlikely)
    4. Buy him out and have his money on the books for the next 6 years (bad decision)
    5. Try to find a trade partner that will give them at least a little something back plus pay the other half of his salary for half the time it would be on the books in a buyout situation (best-case if they don't want him anymore)

I think the whole Hayes thing is alot of BS. Torts and Hayes worked together in NYR and Torts benched him for one game as Hayes turned the puck over/no effort the prior game. But bear in mind how young PHI is, and the effect that had on the youngsters = calculated move. Wihout Couturier and Atkinson in the lineup, Hayes is the defacto veteran leader among the top 6.

Hayes is performing at his cap level and is almost a ppg, on a team that ranks near the bottom in offense. The idea of a buy out is ridiculous, the idea of trading him for a better contract on a not too worse player, maybe, but the idea PHI will buy him out, based on what happened 2 weeks ago is laughable, especially as hes continued to perform at such a high level and is a leader Torts and the young kids like.

And a low in the round first and bowers for Hayes alone (no retention and Braun) is probably a low offer, for what Hayes brings/performs.

Agree that a buyout of Hayes is not on the table. It’s funny how the admitted speculation of one reporter (though a generally very credible one) has turned into this “Hayes is getting bought out” certainty and has thus completely devalued his worth.

He is on pace for 70+ points, can play both the C and LW, and is well liked and regarded by his teammates. A team like the Avs could really benefit by plugging him into their gaping whole at 2C should they miss out on a Bo Horvat. The draft compensation should be contingent upon the salary retention. There is no way PHI should retain 50% unless they get the 2023 first. A more palpable deal for both would be 30% salary retention for the 2024 first.

I like the idea of konecny in NYR… but Kakkos steady improvement is something I wouldn’t want to get rid of. I think that deal can be worked out centering around picks instead.

After last night, Provorov would be highly unwelcome in Los Angeles and I'm betting Rob Blake wouldn't touch him.

I don't see the buy out as realistic myself. A '24 1st and Bowers for Hayes 50% retained would be a steal.
