So we all know the Ducks need to protect Silfverberg from the Vegas draft. And the Leafs need someone to play with either Rielly/Gardiner.

If the Ducks can somehow get Bieksa to waive his NMC so they can protect #33, that'll mean they will need to expose one of their top 4 D-men. Which would probably either be Manson/Vatanen.

So here's an idea for a trade:

Manson to the Leafs and Leipsic + Soshnikov + 2nd to the Ducks.

I would really love for Manson to become a Leaf. A lot of people would probably prefer the puck-moving Vatanen, but he's a smallish guy. And the Leafs already have a couple puck movers.

Do you think this is enough to get it done?

Sorry but a bottom pairing d-man for a super top prospect, a young player who will be a 45 point scorer at least one year probably, and a pick? I disagree.

You are most likely going to get Vatanen out of Anaheim before anyone else.

True, but Vatanen is hurt, so his value drops significantly.
