As we are buying Brock on a low point, I just can't throw in that 2nd as a kicker as you are taking a bunch of middle prospect pieces. I don't think the Devils would need to pay for that retention with the 2nd if that's the point. The other thing is that you are taking the two most likely 3Cs from the team so the Devils would need to find another answer there.

Jets would only do this if they want Bo for next year (ie. if Dubois is still saying no to an extension)

Its a bit too pricey for a guy that isnt exactly what the Jets need. We need a Toews or ROR for their playoff experience of winning a cup who can play shutdown with Lowry when needed and top 6 in case of injury.

Given that Björkstrand went for 3rd + 4th and Patches for FC (both significantly better players than Boeser) I think the Canucks would be lucky get much of anything in return for Boeser and his contract.
Cannot see a world where Canucks get 2 nhl ready defensive prospects on 6 figure cap hits + 2 rather useful roster players + a 2nd rd pick.
It's really quite an egregious ask.

I don’t know Winnipeg’s prospect pool very well. But Horvat extended in Winnipeg could be cool if PLD gets moved this summer.

Winnipeg fans, tell me if I’m a clueless idiot lol.

Really hoping PLD signs at least a mid term contract this summer (3-4 years). If they know that he absolutely will not sign, I'd be all over Horvat to WPG with an extension.

Not a chance Winnipeg considers that for a rental. If Horvat had a reasonable term and dollar extension in place, then the Jets could look at him. Although until the PLD situation is sorted, Winnipeg likely isn't interested.

The Jets need to at least have an idea if PLD and Scheif want to stay before the deadline so they can look at trades like this. If either of them say they don't want to stay beyond their current deals, then I would pull the trigger on a Horvat deal. You go into the playoffs with by far the best center depth in the league, PLD, Scheif, Horvat, Lowry, then you look at trading either Scheif or PLD in the offseason.

Would it really only cost a first plus a few meh prospects?
Rooney a aimé ceci.

I'm sure they have an idea already, but things change. So, with the uncertainty of the future the Jets need to keep that 1st and not put it in play for a rental.

Drance said that, specifically, he'd get less than Bjorkstrand and Canucks fans seem to think it's not the case. Idk man. I'd be shocked if he goes for anything more than like, a 2nd.

I was gonna say...deal seems a bit light from WPG's end.
