Why trade for Pearson?
He is just going to sit on LTIR
I understand Tampa did it but we don't have too we have cap space you just need to send down McMann and maybe send down Benn

Seems like a steep price to pay for Gudas because he's big and hits. Does he really replace anyone in the top 4?

The Canucks may as well put Pearson on LTIR instead of trading him and use the cap space that gives us to re-sign some of our pending free agents

You think they go into the playoffs without a Muzzin/Lyubushkin type on the backend?

I don't see why they need to make changes to the backend when it's currently working. Muzzin and Boosh were both in the lineup last playoffs, and look how that turned out. Why do the same thing again?

You think it was the backend that lost the series? We out scored them at 5v5. We lost the series on special teams. 🤷‍♂️

I think we both an say playoff hockey and regular season hockey are not the same. And yes, IMO the Leafs absolutely need to address a heavier presence on the backend before the playoffs start.

I wasn't implying that the backend lost us the series. But I can see how it came off like that.

All I'm saying is, don't spend assets on bruisers for the sake of them being bruisers. From what I've seen of Radko, which I am no expert on, he likes to take dumb penalties. If special teams really killed TOR last year, he won't help that cause.

Who comes out of the lineup if TOR adds? Try to leave out the emotional bias before saying Holl, who actually plays very well on the PK. Aside from the atrocious giveaway on Saturday, Timmins has been great and deserves to be in there. Are you going to take out Sandin/Liljegren/Gio? That only leaves Reilly and Brodie, who obviously won't come out.

All good, wasn’t trying to come off aggressive.

Couldn’t agree more on Timmins, one thing that has stood out has been his reads, which made his turnover a little surprising, his head is always scanning the ice looking for open ice. His passing has been off the charts, with that one exception.

But again this is a player who has only played 8 games the past two seasons it’s a lot to ask of someone to go up against TBL and BOS (if we hope for a long run).

And I also chalk his rough outing to Rielly, he has that effect on his partners.

For me the locks are:
Sandin Liljgren
Rielly Brodie (or potentially a new partner)
Giordano X/Brodie (I really believe Holl will be the man out)

If Timmins does get injured again, then I'm fully on board with adding another body to the roster. Mind you, Benn is a bruiser as well, but he's not someone I'd feel comfortable playing every night in the playoffs.

Ya, Benn is a nice stop gap for the regular season not playoffs

Make that 2, mind you I don't think he deserved that one. Reputation call more than likely.

Can’t lie, I don’t love the player and you make a valid point he takes some dumb ass penalties.

But every playoff team IMO needs a Radko Gudas type, especially when going up against teams like TBL and BOS (both dirty teams)

Maybe Gudas isn’t that guy for the Leafs but they need someone
