Nemec and Holtz are great prospects, but our right side is still Dougie-Marino and losing Nemec means we could potentially have long term space for Severson or someone else (Casey, UFA, etc). Adding EP to the forward core is a direct massive upgrade to Holtz and the two 1sts are gonna be late firsts cause EP makes this team insane.

A lot more goes into a players value than ppg. There was a general sense around the leugue that Tuch was on the edge of breaking out especially after his performance in the bubble. I don’t watch enough Devils games to have a great read on Sharongovich, but it’s clear he isn’t viewed to have to same potential that Tuch. Not to mention Tuch had a much higher pedigree being a first round pick.

Problem is, this list doesn't exist for Pettersson. Pettersson is Vans only untouchable. A team could offer 4 first round picks and I'd say no (unless they were all top 10 picks, maybe then).

If Pettersson really wants out, he wouldn't be willing to start contract negotiations in July. His contract doesn't expire until the end of next season which means he could just wait until then, however he wants to get a contract as soon as possible. Doesn't scream "I want to get out of here"

Yeah if Drance or someone said something like that, I’d assume he’d heard something. I don’t think these dudes makes stuff up, especially the good ones (like Drance and Russo for example)
