Don't hate it and don't think its that far off. Maybe upgrade Krebs to Iorio or Chesley, but seems pretty close to ARI asking price. More and more that I think about it Chychrun is a great fit in DC

I’d understand Arizona wanting just a little more value, for sure. If the difference in them taking this trade was the difference between Krebs and Iorio, I’d make that switch.

I like Chychrun especially because he’s a great two way defenseman. He actually produces offense and is solid defensively. He’s worth the value they’re asking for.

The cap space from moving him may help us keep the rest of the team together this off-season. It might be doable even if we keep him, but moving mantha would make it so we definitely can ice a full roster that looks just as good as the one we have this season if not better.

Mantha should absolutely be moved somehow. His 5.7 million will be needed to re-sign defenseman. Carlson is the only NHL D under contract beyond this year.

yea i would give them pick of mcmichael and lapierre and pick of krebs/johnson/iorio/chesley plus a first in a heartbeat. the second first is what i would really be concerned about

Supposedly, the asking price of Chyc has dropped to two big assets (though I'm not sure if its the most reliable of reports), so I think they would be fine with Krebs, but I think you could get the job done with Johnson or a forward prospect like Trineyev/Karabela.

Hate getting rid of Mantha in this, since they'll have the space to keep him around. I like possibly trading for Chyc and letting Orlov or Jensen walk in FA but I'd at least wait til the offseason to move Mantha if needed.
